In contrast to ”Praeambulum durum”, ”Interludium intimum” has more intimate and delicate character. On the other hand a firm connection between the parts excists and there are strong accents and builing up chords as in its predecessor. In this part the French horn has a special, even soloistic character. In the end of the work the large range of the horn is being demonstrated, when the cantabile-like melody line in the highest pitches gradually descents to the lowest register to compete with the trombone and the tuba.

Comme le titre "Interludium intimum" indique cette partie est plus intime et plus délicate que la partie précédente "Praeambulum durum". La relation forte entre les deux parties existe et les forts accents et étirements des accords sont toujours présents. Dans cette partie, le cor a une rôle spéciale, même soliste. À la fin de l´oeuvre, le cor présente presque toute sa gamme vaste quand l´instrument decend graduellement jouant un ligne mélodique resemblant à cantabile  par le registre plus haux au registre plus bas pour se mettre en compétition avec le trombone et le tuba.

So wie der Titel "Interludium intimum" hindeutet, ist dieser Teil intimer und delikater als der vorherige Teil "Praeambulum durum". Die starke Beziehung zwischen zwei Teilen existiert und die starken Akzente und die Ausdehnungen der Akkorde sind vorhanden. In diesem Teil, hat das Horn eine spezielle Rolle, sogar eine des Soloinstrumentes. Am Ende des Werkes, präsentiert das Horn fast ihre ganze Tonleiter wenn das Instrument zunehmend von dem höheren Register bis zum unteren Register beim Spielen eine Melodienlinie, die cantabile ähnlich ist, heruntergeht, um sich in einen Wettbewerb mit der Posaune und Tuba zu setzen.
